Bedroom Wishlist and Inspiration

I had the worst weekend blogging wise, having had a day on Saturday that I just couldn't find the motivation to write, and on Sunday as soon as I was getting ready to write up some posts... Boom! One of our cockerels falls ill and I go into panic mode. We spent most of the day going from our house to friends' farms to see what was wrong and to pick up the medication he needed. Thankfully he's back on the mend now and I can sit here knowing he's alright.

So, as I was just stalking the web for some bedroom furniture, and as always came back to my two favourite places to buy from: IKEA and ASDA's George. The furniture tends to come from IKEA, but I always go back to George for bed-linen and such. It's like it's tradition!

The rules are much the same as my last post, I have a budget and I have to stick to it as close as possible. Perfectly stay under budget, but we all know how it can get! There is at least one link back to the item - on the first photo if there is two - so you can check them out too if you fancy!

This may be my wishlist, but I hope it inspires you as well. Even if it's just to clean your room, maybe get a new bed-set, who knows!

Without further a do, here is my bedroom wishlist...

Bedroom Furniture

  • The Bed
The bed is kind of the most important feature in the room. Without it, it's not really a bedroom, is it? We currently have a standard double bed, and to be honest just thinking of having kids climbing over us in the mornings in the double gives me chills. Elbows in ribs, feet in faces... Absolute chaos. So, B and I decided a king size bed would do just the trick!

This is the bed frame Leirvik. I just love this bed, especially as it has a headboard and a footboard - no idea what it's actually called, please tell me! The frame alone costs £55, which I think is a bit of a bargain for something so pretty! Adding the slatted bed base, makes this bed £79 which I still think is an incredibly good price.
We will be buying a mattress to go with the bed and that'll be what eats away at our budget, but a good nights sleep if definitely worth it!
I doubt you want to see a picture of just a mattress, but for reference we have picked the Hafslo Sprung Mattress in Standard King Size which is £100.

£79 + £100 = £179
£250 - £179 = £71

  • Bedside tables
I'm not particularly a fan of the bedside tables we have right now, but they do their job until we get some new ones. I have been trawling through IKEA's webpage, and it's safe to say I have found my dream bedside table.

I absolutely adore this little table. It's so light and airy! The glass top really makes it stand out to me, and I'd be lying if the price wasn't a big factor in my like for it! It's currently £9 each, and if that's not the best price ever for these lovely bamboo bedside tables, I don't know what is!

2 x £9 = £18
£71 - £18 = £53

  • Other furniture
We have a chest of drawers already, that I plan on sanding down and painting white/ off-white. We also have a free-standing wardrobe in white, and the doors to our walk-in wardrobe - that has become more of a storage area - are white too.
As you can see, our room is very white! I'm glad we don't have to buy all new furniture though, as I don't think our budget would stretch that far.

Other Pieces

  • A Mirror
We don't currently have a mirror in our room, in fact I think we only have two mirrors in the house - for someone who likes to make faces in the mirror this is an abomination! -and so I thought it'd be good to have one in the bedroom. More of a way to lighten up the room a bit more and give some form of depth to the room rather than check my outfits before I go downstairs. I end up in leggings and wellies anyway.

As you can see, I'm keeping with the theme of metal. I love the little design on top, and I'm pretty pleased to say that this is only £15!

£53 - £15 = £38

  • Bed Sheets
Well you can't have a bed without bed sheets, and considering that we'll be going from a double to a king size bed, sheets are on the "To Buy" list. I've ended up back at George, and here's what I've found:

- Fitted King Size Sheet £4.75 in Cream (I'll be getting two!)

These are the lightest and most neutral sets I could find. I would also like to get a simple white set of sheets for the bed.

£4.75 x2 = £9.50
£12 x2 = £24
£24 + £9.50 = £33.50

The Total

£38 - £33.50 =£4.50

Well, I've managed to stay under budget! I did think I would be over budget by quite a lot by the time I had finished, but I've managed to keep it to a we-need-it basis and not go all out on absolutely everything I see.

There are a few things that I have missed out, but I think I'm going to leave it for another post - I'm going to be attacking our walk-in and making it into a proper storage space that I'm not scared to go into within the next year - so I won't cover it all in this one.

What do you think? Is there anything you like? Is there anything you don't like? Tell me down in the comments!

Thank you for reading,
Bella x
